House Warming

9 December 2023

STARLING presents a house warming programme to mark our opening to the public. On the 9th of December we are joined by esteemed artists and friends for an evening of theatrics, moths, noise, flute, Donedeal and dance music. We are delighted to present Dylan Kerr, Mícheál Keating, Isadora Epstein and mankyy for an unforgettable first night in our new house.

Baptist Goth(a.k.a Dylan Kerr) is an Irish artist whose work takes the form of durational, endurance-based performance, drawing on the embodied languages of ritual, protest and worship. Their practice also focuses on audio-based work which operates on the cusp of sound art and contemporary music, with a prevalent influence of religious arrangements. Most of their work has been made public through site specific performances and installations in adapted-use buildings.

Mícheál Keating is a media artist from Limerick whose practice traverses sound, video, performance, text and image. His work explores politics and transformation in rural Irish landscape. He is also a musician (Bleeding Heart Pigeons, Péist, Laura Duff, The Low Field), music producer, and festival organiser (Féile na Gréine).

Isadora Epstein writes and makes performances from her research of art history and mythology. Her work brings together an ensemble of artists working in visual art, experimental music, and dance. The activities of her practice include three distinct processes: archival research, script writing, and collaborative rehearsals. Her performances are joyful acts of remembrance which offer up the ridiculous fantasy of immortality through the making of temporary fictional worlds.

Daithí MacCruitín (a.k.a mankyy) is a music producer and artist from Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare. Living in Limerick since 2018, with a background in hip-hop and sample-based music, his work has expanded to include handmade collage booklets, community zines, and album covers.
